iMagic Restaurant Reservation - Online Manual

Tutorial 1 Getting Started - Setting up

This is the first tutorial in a series that show you how to use iMagic Restaurant Reservation. This tutorial steps you through the process of setting up the system.

When you first run the application the Configuration Wizard will start. If this is not the first time you have run the application or you have closed it open it now by clicking the Configuration Wizard from the Tools menu.

This wizard allows you to define the guest unit, table information, average dine length and starting times.

Step 1. Welcome

The first step welcomes you to the wizard and indicates what it does. To continue:

1. Click the Next button.

Step 2. Choosing the guest unit for your restaurant.

This step allows you to choose guest unit for your restaurant. The guest unit is the name you want to give to each customer in a reservation. To choose the guest unit:

1. Click the guest unit name.
2. Click the Next button.

Step 3. Entering your table information.

This allows the application to reserve tables each time a booking is made. To add a table:

1. Enter the table name, maximum number of customers that can sit at that table.
2. Click the Add button.
3. Repeat the above procedure for each table in your restaurant.

If you make a mistake you can remove a table by selecting it from the list and clicking Remove.

Step 4. Selecting the average dine length.

Select the most common length of time for each reservation:

1. Choose the average dine length.
2. Click the Next button.

Step 5. Enter the times for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Choose the time intervals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

1. Select the time that your breakfast period should end.
2. Select the time that your lunch period should end.
3. Click the Next button.

Note that the application will automatically fill in the remaining information.

Step 6. Finished

All of the necessary information to start taking reservations has been entered. To continue:

1. Click the Next button.


You can repeat this procedure should any settings change.
